Artificial Intelligence: The First Line in Authentication

Artificial Intelligence is the first technology we apply to every new authentication case we receive. What began as an experiment in using mathematical fractals to support attribution has evolved dramatically. Early applications involved isolated algorithms; today, these have matured into the expansive, adaptive, and powerful force we now refer to as AI.

Upon receiving a new painting, we initiate a comprehensive suite of AI-driven analyses using proprietary computational models developed in-house. These algorithms are finely tuned to extract insights from every nuance of the artwork.

AI now performs approximately 80% of the analytical workload. The remaining 20%—the refinements, contextual interpretations, and expert adjustments—translate raw AI output into meaningful, actionable conclusions about the work’s authenticity.

Fine Art Scientific Investigation Services

Scientific Investigation Services

Scientific Art Tests provides both scientific analysis and forensic investigation of paintings and other fine art: carbon 14 dating, DNA analysis, materials analysis, multispectral imaging, x-ray examination, and more. We are based in the United States and operate worldwide.

The basic methods used to authenticate and attribute art have not changed much over the years, but today there are many more tools at one's disposal, which can provide useful objective data. This valuable data can complement historical research, authentication, or conservation of a work of art. In some cases, the data can stand alone to prove authenticity.

All investigations are completely confidential.
