Multispectral Imaging of Artwork
- Multispectral imaging allows us to examine artwork under several different electromagnetic wavelengths to see what is hidden underneath.
- The naked eye can only see VIS (visible) wavelengths and GL (grazing light) wavelengths. By viewing photos in wavelengths not normally seen by the naked eye, we can derive a wealth of information regarding the history and structure of a piece of art.
- Multispectral imaging allows us to view underdrawings, detect alterations, and observe certain materials and pigments used in the composition of a painting.
- We issue a report detailing the results of our analysis.
